About us

Alexis Rule and Livia Chou have over 20 years combined experience working with award-winning developers and residential design firms; they have been responsible for every aspect of complex building projects, from initial programming and concept to completion.

Collaborative by nature, they know that teamwork is the key to creating smart, beautiful, useful spaces that reflect the needs and desires of their clients.

Livia Chou

Principal/Lead Designer BID, DID

Livia studied industrial design at Emily Carr University and interior design at BCIT. Before co-founding Kaia Creative, she worked as an in-house designer at a large, industry leading developer of multi-family housing where she excelled at managing multiple projects simultaneously in a pressure cooker environment.

Shifting gears to explore a more individualized approach, she joined an award-winning boutique practice specializing in custom, private residences.

Livia’s artistic sensibilities are nurtured by travel. The sights, sounds, tastes and physical beauty of distant places make a meaningful contribution to her work.

Principal/Lead Designer DID

Alexis studied interior design at BCIT. Growing up in a family focused on design, she got an early education in craftsmanship, furnishings, textiles and art selection. She has honed these skills and those of project management overseeing multi-family and commercial projects and designing the interiors of custom homes. 

Her talent and work ethic have not been lost on the top Vancouver design firms, development companies and private clients who have engaged her. 

Alexis has first hand experience both renovating and building new homes for her family, which includes two lively young children.
