Designed for a young family of four, this first house embodies a refined balance between West Coast modern design and rustic craftsman warmth. The interior was conceived to be inviting, comfortable, and light filled, offering a sense of ease and simplicity that supports everyday family life.
The design intent was to create a home that feels thoughtful but not overly designed, a calm and timeless setting that provides space for the family’s story to unfold. Natural materials and soft, neutral finishes establish a warm yet restrained backdrop, allowing the family to layer in their own art, collected objects, and memories over time.
By focusing on simplicity, authenticity, and adaptability, the home becomes a living canvas, one that evolves with the family and celebrates the beauty of a life well lived. The result is a space that feels grounded, personal, and enduringly modern.

The kitchen is designed as the heart of the home, balancing functionality with a calm, modern aesthetic. A material palette of light oak cabinetry, white engineered stone countertops, and natural quartzite establishes a sense of quiet elegance and continuity throughout the space.
The central island serves as both a practical workspace and a social hub, encouraging family connection and everyday gathering. Ample storage was thoughtfully integrated throughout the kitchen to support organization and promote a clutter-free environment, ensuring the space remains open, functional, and refined. The overall intent is to create a kitchen that feels timeless and grounded, enhancing both daily living and long-term adaptability.
The patina-finished rustic dining table anchors the dining area, bringing an organic touch that contrasts beautifully with the iconic Eames dining chairs, creating a dialogue between tradition and modernity.
Overhead, the oversized Muuto felt pendant light adds a sculptural statement while providing acoustic absorption, a practical and stylish choice for a lively young family.
